It’s definitely been a period of adjustment, hope everyone’s hanging in there! However, “the show must go on!”. So, we were wondering how we could help you to continue to meet your deadlines and deliver value…
This month’s newsletter brings you articles on Kanban, Due Dates, and Estimation. We think it would be of tremendous help to be able to figure out when you can promise the delivery of your work, how much you can take on next and, while the world is going through its thing, figure out how to keep everyone, including yourself, happy.
Estimation is (necessary) waste, reduce it!
Some people hate it, some people can’t live without it. However, it is clear that traditional estimation is a huge impediment to agility. Sudipta Lahiri argues that the intent should be to spend as little time and effort as possible on estimation and not lose sight of your core objective – the ability to respond to change.
We also conducted a webinar recently on this topic as part of our series of webinars on Business Agility. We covered the best ways to gather requirements in the first and spoke about estimation in the second. We will be talking about forecasting in the next session. They’re all free to view and share. Do take a look.
Due Dates in Kanban Systems
Agile teams advocated against Due Dates because they tend to drive wrong behavior and subvert quality. On the other hand, an absence of Due Dates can lead some teams’ throughput to drop. Sudipta Lahiri shares how Kanban systems provide additional help to teams to determine more realistic Due Dates.

Is Portfolio Management changing as we know it?
The pandemic has forced people from all walks of life to make some pretty fundamental reassessments – both personally and professionally. However, the more resilient an enterprise/ a portfolio, the better placed it is to cope with a variety of risks and challenges.
We conducted a webinar on Aug 26th, 2020 with Vikas Kapila where we shared some tips and tools an Enterprise can use within its portfolio(s) to stay aware of changing market conditions. We also had a great discussion towards the end – check it out.
That’ll all from us this month. If you have any feedback or questions for us, please do let us know. Stay healthy, stay safe, stay kind.
