1. Story mapping

Most teams end up branding their current requirements as user stories. Unfortunately, without small, independent, testable stories, Agile execution is a non-starter.

Nimble’s story mapping is a practical way to help team’s break large scope into User Stories – user stories that follow the principles of INVEST. It helps visualize the entire scope and then, do the Release/Sprint planning simultaneously.

2. Agile estimation

For teams and organizations that find it difficult to plan with NoEstimates, Nimble’s “Pragmatic Agile” allows you to do estimation following the Relative Sizing approach. Relative sizing is fast and significantly more accurate. Relative sizing compares any given work item against a set of already completed work items and derive the estimate.

3. Standup wizard

Standups are one of the most common Lean-Agile practices followed by every team. Yet, they are notoriously long and miss their core objective in many teams.

Nimble’s standup wizard helps you keep a time check on the entire standup process, making it focussed and effective. It automatically brings to focus the workitem of any specific individual, finishing with an aggregate view of the entire board and its Burndown chart.

4. Agile Program Management

One of the big challenges that Lean-Agile teams face is answering the question – When will it get done? Alternatively, if the team is running behind, what options are available to correct the situation? Agile literature talks about being flexible with scope. However, even with a negotiated scope, business needs to hear the same above 2 questions!

Nimble’s “Pragmatic Agile” is designed to directly answer these questions:

  1. When is it going to complete?
  2. If the team is behind, what options do you have to increase velocity or to reduce scope to get it back on track?

5. Retrospectives

Continuous improvement is an integral part of Lean-Agile execution. Yet, Retrospectives are often ineffectively time managed and/or ineffective in closing the Action Items.

Nimble’s “Pragmatic Agile” facilitates anonymous feedback to help collect the real ground level situation. In addition, Nimble’s “5Why” approach to root cause analysis helps the team to get a real picture of what is happening at the ground level and identify action items. Coupled with an Action Item tracker, Nimble helps the team focus on closure of the Action Items to make the Retrospective count.

6. Backlog Refinement

Some Lean-Agile teams struggle to refine their backlog from ideation to refined stories in a planned timely fashion. Experience shows that Cycle Time in phase is often 5-10X higher than the cycle time for execution. Hence, the overall throughput of the system is governed
